New customer moved from GiffGaff but no issues with them who also use O2 network. No mobile data connection at any location away from home or other wi-fi network. Travel across the north west and Yorkshire, but also south east, so wouldn’t seem to be a local coverage problem. Can anyone help?

The internet tells me it’s chronic entrenched neglect of UK infrastructure by US parent company, I understand now another Brex****** benefit. Any suggestions for UK or worker owned firms instead?

That would appear to be account or setting related.
Make sure your data apn is "mobile.o2.co.uk" and for account check, contact O2 Guide: How to find help & contact O2

Nothing to do with Brexit or Liberty Global as o2 is a JV between them and Telefonica.... The problem is down to NIMBY's and lack of investment over time, but the same is true of EE and VodaThree
It might be worth trying your sim in a different phone to rule out a phone issue.
You can always get a new sim card to see if that helps, take photo ID to an o2 store and they can sort out a new sim..
For UK owned Networks your only option really is EE as VodaThree is a JV between Vodafone and Hutchinson \
But there are UK owned MVNO's

As you had no issues with giffgaff it really can only be phone or account.
It won't be signal related everywhere.

Not fair to tar all networks with the "lack of investment" card.

I see this time and time again.
While it happens we will stay the bottom of the heap in Europe and beyond
