I have just changed my contract with Virgin Media and it includes a new sim card for my wifes phone. We were assured that her number would not change. I have just been sent an email from O2 to say the sim card is on it's way and the new number is..... This is no good for us, we do not want a new number and will pull out of the contract should this be the case!

Looks like you should contact customer service as they can help with that – message them on Social Media if that works best for you -on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) or call on 202 or 0344 809 0202

Guide: Migration & porting into O2

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Obviously this is not the place for this discussion and the virtual assistant isn't any good so my question is: Is there anyway to speak to a person about phone number changes? TIA

Unusual one but perhaps they want you to port the number, all Sims will have a new temporary number assigned until the day of the transfer which will override.  I've 3 numbers due to be transferred, concerned as it's already failed this month. Awaiting next month's attempt
