Hi, I purchased a cellular Apple Watch with device plan from o2, I was hoping to use this watch for my son, but have realised that as it is linked to my number he receives my messages and phone calls. I would like for him to have his own phone so that he has a separate number, with an 02 pay and go sim, I want the watch to be linked to the other number and not my existing number. Is there any way to do this? So basically:-

- can the watch with cellular plan be used on a number that is not my primary number?
- can the watch with cellular plan be linked to a pay and go mobile, I can still play for the watch plan though my contract

Please help me sort this, I have been in touch on the phone, been sent to the store and back to the phone, I have been promised that someone will get in touch and they have not. I just need answers now as I would have returned the watch straight away if I knew it wouldn’t work. The person on the phone said I could still return it given I had raised an issue, but this was last week and I haven’t heard back from the technical team

O2 Apple Watch Cellular is added onto an O2 Contract phone only, @-JOJOLO- - for a monthly fee of £7 currently.  https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/watch-airtime-plan-terms

@-JOJOLO-

The only way you can do this is to get your son his own contract (not PAYG) then pay off the watch fully, which means it can then be released from your contract and linked to your sons new contract.

Thanks for your reply. Would it not be possible to change the number on my existing contract which is linked with the watch (and give him that number) and then port my number to a new contract/PAYG

@-JOJOLO-

Unfortunately not. You could just give your son the phone, number and watch and get a new number yourself, but obviously you would lose your number that way.
