I tried to signup to O2 in a store yesterday, but to my amazement I failed the credit check!
Turns out the guy in the store entered my middle name as my surname, so now I have an account that uses my email address with a name I can’t change.
I’ve tried to correct it in My O2, but says I need to contact customer services, but I can’t find anything other than “help” articles that don’t help.
One suggestion was to sign into My O2 select mange details, then select “edit your name”, then provide some proof of name document.
I don’t have the edit name option, only edit username which is my email address.
I’m not even a customer yet and already getting frustrated!
Please help!
Thanks.

@Showoff
Simple answer is to start again, as that would be easier, especially as you have no linked products. or even really a customer of o2

I tried that, but my email address is now tied to that name.

I’m no where near the shop and won’t be again for a week. I also don’t have any other O2 shops close to me that I can get to easily.
I gave the guy my ID to copy from, so no guaranty taking that would help. lol
I just need an easy way to correct the error.

Until you have anything on the account you cant change the name unless you follow this guide https://www.o2.co.uk/help/account-and-billing/changing-personal-details
But to be honest create a throwaaway email address, change it in myo2 to that address to that address and then start again..
Or take the long way round via the link above
