Data connection dropped after 24 hours?

I started using a SIM-only contract for home broadband at the weekend, and it seems as if the connection is being dropped after 24 hours or so. The only way to get the connection back is to restart the router. Is this a thing, that's actually happening, and is there a way to make it stop?

Is this a data only SIM we are talking about?
This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
