Apple watch 6 cellular - cannot set up

Old Apple watch 6 cellular that was purchased originally through Vitality broke. Purchased new one and cancelled old data plan with O2 on phone.

 

Now I cannot set up new data plan. It does not ask me to log in and I am met with the message below.

 

"We’re setting up your Apple Watch on the O2 network and we’ll text you when it’s all done. If you don’t receive a text within 24 hours, call 202 for free from your O2 mobile, quoting reference code 08."

 

Customer support is a total mess. First I was told to go to an O2 shop which I did. They told me that I should call O2 which I did again. Been promised numerous call-backs, none of which have materiaslised. Stuck without cellular on my watch.

O2's service is completely unhlepful.
