I was switched from Virgin to O2 in the summer. I'm going to Italy end of next week. Am I automatically OK to use my phone abroad or is there anything I or you need to do please? Also, the signal at home is very slow, is there a problem in the part of London?

You can roam for free in Italy

Free EU Data Roaming Abroad | O2

Check for any network issues here O2 Service Status but if still using your Virgin sim, it would be advisable to get a swap to an O2 sim.

Pop into any O2 store with photo ID and they will sort you out.
