why am I being charged every month for a number that was cancelled by O2 without being activated

Hello,
I receive a monthly bill for an account that was never activated and, I believe, was cancelled by O2.
I would like to stop the billing, please.
I would also like to ask if it is possible to refund about a year's worth of payments.

You can reach the Payment Management team on 0800 902 0217.
The opening times are:
Monday to Friday – 8am to 8pm
Saturday – 8am to 6pm
Sunday – 9am to 6pm
