I ordered a new phone 2 days ago after changing to O2 from another network. I supplied a PAC code to keep my old number, I haven't actually received my new phone yet because it was delayed a day on the shipping.
I received a text from O2 today saying "We're just letting you know we have ported your number to O2". This was a few hours ago and now my current phone has just lost all calls, texts and data. I was under the impression that this wouldn't happen until I activated the new sim? Now I'm left without a phone until my new one gets delivered, which I haven't had any further updates with and now I can't actually even call the customer care to get more advice.

Go into any O2 store with some photo ID and they will give you a sim to use in your old phone.
