Hi, I've probably wasted 10+ hours on the phone with O2 the past month, as well as had numerous live chats ended. Just today I was put on hold for 30 minutes, and when I had to put the agent on hold to take a call I was hung up on.
My contract ended on 09/09, and initially I had wanted to switch to O2 pay as you go. I got in contact early, but there were many issues with doing the transfer, and every customer service agent told me a different thing. I was asked to buy another new sim, then told this needed to be activated in a different phone - the story kept changing. Finally I found out the issue was that a service agent had created me a PAC code WITHOUT ME ASKING, and this was preventing the transfer to pay as you go. I was told there was no option but to wait until the code expired in 30 DAYS, so I decided to take my business to giffgaff.
I bought a giffgaff esim and used the PAC code to transfer on Monday 8th September with a transfer date of Tuesday 9th September. No transfer happened on the 9th, or the 10th, and its currently 2pm on the 11th. I have been locked out of my bank accounts and my work software because I use 2FA with my phone - so have lost now 3 days of income. I am unable to call O2, because I can’t topup the new giffgaff sim as its in the middle of porting, and the £10 topup I set the sim up with was wasted being left on hold with O2 trying to reach someone who could help. I can’t access the live chats either, because all the options ask me to speak to an agent via the app, and the app has been disabled for me now as the transfer was supposed to be on the 9th.
giffgaff are slow to respond, but my latest message from them explains that O2 have not transferred the number to their network, and they are waiting for that. Why have O2 not transferred the number yet? IT’S BEEN 3 DAYS. I would like someone from O2 to contact me ASAP so we can sort this out.
