is there any way i can temporarilly lock my daughters account online as punishment for bad behavior

No not for contract

Payg can be restricted by not topping it up.

You could remove her SIM card / phone from her possession or if you still want to be able to contact her as a parent then replace her contract sim with a Payg one.

Which phone are you using as some can have restrictions applied via their settings.

Just to clarify a few things.

What phone is being used ?

Contract or Payg ?

Is your daughter an adult ?

I assume you pay the bill.

You could ring customer service and tell them you have left the phone somewhere and ask them to place a temporary bar on it until you retrieve the phone. It's important to tell them to bar the sim and not the phone. Or just take the sim card out.

Depending on the phone you can:

Put a lock on the sim card in the settings on the phone

Put a lock on the screen of the phone. Both of these options mean you would have to enter a pin number of your choice. Many phones no longer limit this to 4 digits either.

Take the sim out

Take the phone away

All o2 to temporary bar outgoing calls n texts (excessive and wouldn't recommend frequently).

Don't top up

If this was me I'd go with first trying the discussion route with your daughter ,and have a dumb down phone with a Payg sim to replace what's being used now ,so you can still contact her which is key.

PIN lock would do it from prevention of use point of view but you'd still be able to call her if needed.
