Switch up changes

Hi I was due a switch up in November but didnt do it as I was waiting for the phone I want to drop down in price. I understand its changing on the 22nd January does this mean if I dont use my switch up that was due in November by the 22nd January that I will have to keep the phone I currently have for 11 months? Thanks
