Using iPhone in Australia

I am visiting australia for 3 months, i have turned off my wifi data roaming and 3G obviously, to save me money, but if i connect to the wifi i have in my house in melbourne will i be charged for that, if it is a wifi connection not 3G?

If the wi-fi is your broadband line then the wi-fi is free the same as connecting any device to it wirelessly.

Thank you, i was pretty sure that was teh case but when its £6 per 3MG i didnt wana risk it.

you can put the phone into airplane mode and then turn the wi-fi back on and you will not get any calls whilst surfing

Voicemail

And don't forget to turn off voicemail (unless you want to be charged the equivalent rate to England for each time someone gets through to it)*

* Note that you get charged the moment it kicks in, not when someone's leaving a message.

Dial 1760 to turn it off
1750 when you get back to turn it on
