Hi O2 community
I own a Iphone6s phone that was a former company phone purchased when made redudant ,on basis I took a minimum 12 month O2 contract, which I did. Stayed on O2 for around 2 years and then moved to Giff Gaff a few months back, only to realise I can't roam cheaply in USA where I'm going in few week times. Changed to Three network, but found my phone was locked to O2 and O2 won't unlock since I didn't purchase the Phone direct from them. O2 chat team enoucraged me to submit an online form still, which I did, but suspect that will get rejected for the above reasons, and saw elsewhere that a £20 pay as you O2 go Sim for 24 Hrs and then request unlock services may work, but seems a gamble that they may still reject for same reasons. Any guidance would be appreciated.

It's free to unlock now and O2 will unlock any iPhone locked to their network no matter where it came from originally

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback all - appreciate it. Hopefully the form will work then, but I spoke with 3 or 4 agents at O2 though live chat and on he phone and lso spoke to Apple (who were supportive but couldnt help) and the first 3 told me they couldn't unlock unless I had bought from O2 direct (and I hadn't) and only the last agent eventually agreed to submit the form.
