Unable to send MMS

Anonymous
Not applicable

My number was ported from Vodafone to O2 on Monday and everything seems to be ok apart from one thing - I can't send picture messages.  I thought I could, but I was actually sending iMessages!  I have a link from O2 with the settings for MMS but when I click on it nothing happens.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?  It's not the end of the world as I don't send many but it would be good to sort it!

(Oh and I do love the way that spell check wants to change Vodafone to avoidance!)

Thanks both.

Are pictures free (or taken from my data allowance) on iMessage?

Taken from data allowance.

Thank you!

On the subject of iMessages, I've just discovered another problem - if I send an iMessage the person receiving it doesn't see my name and my temporary O2 number comes up.  If I send a normal SMS everything is ok, the receiver sees my name so the number is correct.

Any ideas or is this another one for customer services / live chat?

Thanks again,

Check you have your phone number in the imessage settings ticked.

Then turn off imessage and back on again. It should then activate with your correct number.

I've checked and the phone number in the iMessage settings is the temporary one and it's greyed out so I can't change it.

I was able to change the number in the phone settings but not in iMessage.

I thought everything went too well!

Turn off iMessage, go to networks and reset network settings, then go back and turn on iMessage again.

Ignore me - it seems to be working now!  Just the MMS to sort out!

And whatever I did seems to have sorted the MMS issue as well.

Thank you all for your help!
