Transfer number between o2 contracts?

I have an existing contract and want a new contract that will overlap for a few months. Can I then transfer the older number over to my new contract easily enough?

Both contracts with o2

You can't transfer numbers between contracts. Transferring the older number would effectively close that account.

That wouldnt be a problem. I dont want to transfer it immediately I want to transfer it in a couple of months (effectively closing down my older account). Do able?
