@PeterR

The sim swap process will transfer your number to the new sim.

@PeterR If you're not comfortable doing the sim swap yourself you can call into an O2 store, if you have one nearby, and they'll do it for you. The process is usually very quick.

Hi

REgarding Sim Swap frm 4g sim to 5g sim - i went to an O2 store in sheffield city centre however unfortunately the staff member states that they dont do it here & i have to ring & contact customer service. I am not sure if this information is correct.

I will try another O2 store in meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield soon & see if they do it there.

Finally regardim swap - on the previous link it states

When you do the SIM swap only your tariff or credit will transfer along with your phone number. Nothing that is stored on your SIM will transfer across.

Does this mean that my phone contacts & apps etc will not transfer over?

I have a 5g phone with 4g sime for nearly 5 months & have been very reluctant to do the sim swap myself as i fear making a mistake or losing all of my contacts/apps etc.

Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance.

Your contacts should be stored on the phone, not sim.

That is old historic information relating to dumb phones from 20 years ago.

The sim swap process takes minutes to do and every store should do it for you or do it yourself by following the guide.

Look in your contacts and if you have lots of information fields the data is on phone.

If you are limited to just name and number they could be on the sim.

In the settings for the contacts app, you can transfer them to phone memory.

@N-Star09 If you have a Gmail account your contacts are stored there as well as on your phone.
