Sim Swap Help.

How do I swap a micro sim back to a normal size sim? I've made a total noob mistake, and I don't know how to fix it. My wife got a new sim free phone, and we were told it would require a micro sim. o2 sent a micro-sim, and this evening I used the o2 Sim Swap page to activate the new micro sim, but it didn't activate. The old sim stopped working, but nothing was happening with the new one. After a bit of head scratching, it turns out that her new phone takes a regular sized sim, and not a micro-sim. I should have realised when I inserted the micro sim, as I did think it looked like a normal sim slot. Anyway, I tried to reverse things using the Sim Swap page, but it won't accept the 19 digit serial number that is printed on the old sim. Is there an easy way o fix this, or have I really screwed things up?

I was a little heavy handed with the sim carrier and the thin edge at the bottom broke off while removing it.

These new sim carriers are a bit delicate and won't take a lot of pulling about.

I hope you get it sorted out ok.

I'm sure your wife is an understanding and patient woman and will be ok to wait for her new sim to arrive.

Plus you already offered your phone.

Oh and next time, leave it to her to sort out grin

A little success and temporary fix. I tried one last time to mount the sim using the outer section of the carrier, and it worked this time. I've fixed it in place with a small piece of sellotape, so fingers crossed it will stay in place until a new sim gets delivered slight_smile

I might even get to sleep in the bed now...lol Dance

She came home and caught me in the final act...lol, so there was no hiding it; I wouldn't have anyway. If you lie to your wife, she always finds out, so it's not worth it. She just gave me one of those looks, and then went for a shower. Afterwards, I handed her the working phone and she never mentioned a thing about the screw-up I made. 'Happy Wife' status continues....phew Popcorn
