Sim Swap Help.

How do I swap a micro sim back to a normal size sim? I've made a total noob mistake, and I don't know how to fix it. My wife got a new sim free phone, and we were told it would require a micro sim. o2 sent a micro-sim, and this evening I used the o2 Sim Swap page to activate the new micro sim, but it didn't activate. The old sim stopped working, but nothing was happening with the new one. After a bit of head scratching, it turns out that her new phone takes a regular sized sim, and not a micro-sim. I should have realised when I inserted the micro sim, as I did think it looked like a normal sim slot. Anyway, I tried to reverse things using the Sim Swap page, but it won't accept the 19 digit serial number that is printed on the old sim. Is there an easy way o fix this, or have I really screwed things up?

No, it's a Galaxy Mini 2, GT-S6500.

That's not good news that I can't grab a PAYG sim and 'Sim Swap' to that. Looks like she's going to be without a phone for a week until a new sim arrives, which means that when she gets home from work shortly and finds out that I really screwd things up, I'm going to be in the dog house for a while Shocked

Sadly you will have to reorder the sim and get some flowers/chocolates too wink

Thanks for all the advice. I'm now going to find somewhere safe to hide for the foreseeable future...lol.

Actually, I think I'll just give her my phone and she can use it, as it takes a micro sim. I can quite easily live without it for a week.

I was a little heavy handed with the sim carrier and the thin edge at the bottom broke off while removing it. I just didn't think I'd be needing it. I did try to slide the outer section around the sim, but I just couldn't get it mounted properly in the phone without that bottom edge, and I don't want to superglue it back on, as it's that thin edge that slides in first, so if it breaks off while inserted I'll be in even more trouble, and I think I've caused enough trouble tonight already...lol.
