Hi can anyone tell me how to activate the secondary line on my iPhone 12 pro ? Do I need to get o2 to do thus?
What’s happened to the on-line chat with gurus?
Thanks

@WTF2 the 2nd line is usually a 2nd SIM, the iPhone supports eSIM and then an additional physical SIM card. To get an eSIM you will need to either call O2 or pop in to your local store and get one, you're then free to use the additional SIM slot for another number.

@WTF2

o2 dont provide second lines, you will have to take out a new contract to get 2 phones numbers on an iPhone from o2 and use a esim to get this functionality.

You can use any network that provides an esim as your second line.
This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

So explanation here please?

If you buy a dual sim phone and use a normal sim and an esim both from O2, are you saying you need a second contract for the second sim?

(I can understand that being the case if the second sim was from another provider but not O2). Seems a very expensive way of doing things just for a dual sim phone?

Yes, that is correct.

One contract per sim regardless of the provider.

Would be best for you I imagine.
Dual sims are useful to separate business and personal calls or for when travelling abroad to use a local sim.

Yes I get that. Hopefully if one sim is for business then your employer would pay that?
