Sorry in advance for what maybe a silly question! I want to upgrade my phone early, but looking at the upgrade offers on myo2 they are really expensive. I have a balance to pay on my current device plan. Once I have paid this does my airtime plan stop? Does that mean I can get a new contract from a 3rd party provider and transfer my number?
Many thanks in advance!

When you finish paying your device plan your airtime plan keeps on running. It won't change unless you decide to end that contract. When you're done with your device payment you can transfer your number to another third party provider.
You will need a PAC from O2 to do that

I hope this helps

Once the device is paid off it's yours to do as you want with it. The airtime will keep running until you cancel or upgrade. If you wish to leave then you would have to cancel

If you upgrade you can decide to stick to your old plan or decide to change the plan altogether.
Refer to the link that @Cleoriff gave

So, @Cleoriff I could pay off the remaining device plan, take out a new contract with o2 via 3rd party (being cheaper than upgrade) then transfer my existing number/cancel current airtime plan?

Thanks for your help!

Yes you can.

Yes, you just need to call O2 to migrate your number across (if staying with O2)
