I just received my new phone and am unsure about how to port my number across to o2, I was told at first to bring my pac code to the store when I collect and they'd sort it but then told that the store cannot do it and to contact customer service, I've also noticed that I can do it on the my o2 app, which way is best and minimises the chance of something going wrong?
the app seems to be the easier way but im unsure if I'm reading the feature all wrong

Using the app works or contact O2.
This is a customer to customer community, not O2, so we cannot access your account, sorry.
You need to contact O2.
Message them on Social Media. Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) or give them a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (contract) 4445 or 0344 8090222 (PAYG)

You will get a confirmation email or text to the number you are keeping.
If you don't receive confirmation, you need to chase it up with O2.

Your O2 sim will be active for a new contract already, or was this just an upgrade from another O2 contract?
If you have upgraded, you don't need a PAC. You can use your old sim in the new phone.

this is my first o2 contract, I have been given a sim but am unsure whether activating it will cause trouble for the port, from my understanding it is that sim that becomes my number after the port

You keep that sim and your number will move to it.
Currently it is active with a temporary number.
