Hi,
I have tried to phone home to Canada from Portugal, but I have been unsuccessful. I bought an Archos 55b Platinum at Gatwick. I also purchased a 02 Pay as You Go SIM card. I have also tried texting but to avail. When I phone, I get a Network Busy notice (I am registered on TMN 3G).
I have been using the 00 01 250 1234 calling format which I understand from the Web is the correct format for phoning Canada from the UK.
So, am I doing it right? Is the network really busy or is it me. All help is gratefully accepted!
Thanks

Hi,
I bought a 02 SIM Card and topped it up with the 02 "Go Large" Pay as you Go. 15 pounds for 2 GB Data, 750 Minutes and 2000 Texts.

Thanks very much for the information. I thought I had explained to the Customer Service Person that I would be needing to phone Canada. So it goes...
So now I am in Quarteria Portugal. Do you know what I need to ask for, and also how to get it so that I can make some phone calls and text messages.
I really appreciate your help!

Thank you very much! I will try that. Is it possible to buy you a beer or donate a bit of money to a charity you like via Paypal?

What a lovely thought ...but keep your euro's in your pocket...you are going to need them at this rate of exchange....

Hi again!
I have not yet tried Topping Up my account. I was about to and then I realized that I had only made one short(30 second) phone call to my wife. That should mean that I have around 14 Pounds left to spend. I just checked the BT (British Telephone?) tariff guide and it looks like a 1 minute call should be about 30 pence.
So, I am hesitate about spending more money, when it seems to me I should have an adequate balance. What do you think?
