You need to contact them right away and explain or make the payment or come to an arrangement.
They are likely to mark it on your credit record.

How was the payment ment to be taken DD?
To be honest I would talk to o2. Not sure how quickly they would block the phone, but at least they then know you are aware of the problem. You could also make payment via phone to clear the debt.
I would also talk to your bank. If its the 1st time it has happened, ask if they will waive any charges. If its not, then you need to talk to their credit services team. Better to get any issues out in the open, as they will work to help you minimise any charges.
