Pay Monthly Contract Phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

I bought an iphone in August, and due to just turning 18 I didn't have a credit rating so I paid £246.99 outright (which they keep and refund 3 months later after you've been keeping up payments)

I have just received my phone bill which says -£194.83, does this mean they are going to deduct the £246.99 from my bill instead of a cash refund, which I was expecting?

It means you are £194.83 in credit so it sounds like they have already refunded you and taken payment for this month.

If you wanted the funds refunding to you, instead of using the deposit as credit, then you needed to contact CS, if you dont then they will use it as credit against your bills.

This is as per the T&C's

" 5.20 We may require a deposit before we'll give you access to the Service or before we'll continue to provide the Service to you. We may hold this deposit until you've paid all sums that you owe us under this Agreement. If you owe us money, we may use the deposit to settle or part-settle what you owe us. We'll refund any deposit we're still holding (if you ask) on termination of this Agreement or, if you ask, after three months of continuous on-time bill payments. If you don't ask for the deposit back, it will be added as a credit to your account. We won't pay any interest on any deposit we hold."
