I requested o2 payg to o2 pay monthly keeping same number 9 days ago but they have blocked my old number.

I received a new sim and new number and a pac number but it hasn't transferred.

It's hopeless calling the support team because they promise it will happen but it hasn't.

Awful service.

@Dave1234

You don't need a PAC.

It's an internal migration you need Guide: Migration & porting into O2

Message them on Social Media. Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (X)  (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

O2 gave me a pac number and have tried several times to migrate my old o2 payg number to the new o2 pay monthly number. I have contacted their support team many times but they just keep trying to migrate it.

Latest is that they are now trying to reinstate my old o2 payg back onto its original payg sim, but that hasn't worked either.

@Dave1234 As you do not have social media then I'm afraid you will need to keep on at customer services in the hope of getting someone who knows what they are doing.

Sadly, your story is not unique on here, but as customers we are powerless to help

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I'd advise creating an account just for this purpose as they are UK based and get better results.

If not, persist with the offshore offerings and the pain associated therein.

Contacted customer services today who told me that they cannot reinstate my old number back to payg because the migration is in progress.

I explained that, yesterday, customer support were going to do this and that I should put my old payg sim in my phone and wait 24 hours.

Now they are having another go at migrating my old payg number to pm and told me to wait 48 hours!

I believe there is a technical problem that is preventing my old payg number migrating.

I want to speak to a technical person, but customer support say that they do not have their phone number.

I've still got big problems because my old number was used for all my 2 factor authentication for many sites.

Awful service from O2.

They shouldn't be allowed to cut people off for this long.

You @Dave1234 might not be able to speak to a technical person but I would fully endorse the advice you have already been given, which is to contact O2 by social media. The social media team have a strong reputation for solving customer problems whereas the "....wait 24 hours" could be construed as simply a ploy to get you off the line.

The guide provided to you by @MI5 gives you all of the contact details for the social media team. 👍

I've sent a message to the link on Facebook link

I plan to leave O2 when I get my number back.

I need a reliable service.

Also they have stated that I do need a pac to migrate from payg to pm.

The guide (MI5 link) makes payg to pm appear so simple!

I guess maybe it's easier to migrate out of O2?
