As O2 are switching off the 3G network in July 2025 I need to transfer an old backup phone to another 4G phone ,either O2 or another bought one. The phone is a Microsoft windows mobile based phone that is locked to O2 network (PAYG) bought from Argos in 2015. I need the old number for my new phone (PAYG or monthly). How can I unlock it if there is no response from Microsoft, the manufacturer? Can it be done by O2?

@gdw123

Windows phone is dead and unsupported by anyone nowadays and MS wont sorry to say give 2 hoots about it..

You just need to move your sim card to the new phone,

If the sim doesnt fit in the new phone then pop to an o2 store with photo ID and get a replacement sim card for the new phone...
