Over use the data

Please help, tried with O2 via fb but they send me here.
I have issue with data. My son used the phone, in house, connected to WiFi without mobile data. Somehow he used all 15gb of the Internet! The question is how it is possible? I've checked the online bill and its shows that in the march he used some data everyday, but how? He is not using his phone outside, he is always connected to the WiFi.
Please help

Hi @Karina_w what phone do you have for your son? some put wi-fi to sleep when the phone is not in use so any app refreshes that run in the background will be on mobile data. Also some phones will switch to mobile data when the wifi connectivity is poor or slow.

Thank you for your reply, My son has honour 8. But mobile data is switched off by myself, will it turn it on itself? Without me knowing? But if we take this into considoration how he could use 15gb in less than a month? He is checking the WiFi icon if it's working before playing. And mainly he used to use 1 app - what's app. It's first time I see something like this.
