Hi, my new contract starts tomorrow but I was just wondering if my O2 open discount will continue or if I need to apply again?

You will need to re-apply the discount to your new number.

Best way to do this is via o2open.co.uk login, using the same details as myo2 and it's just a click box next to the new number (assuming you dont need to re-verify).
This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account

I've looked at my account like you said and there is no box next to my number, I will check again tomorrow.
