I am on 02TRAVEL and in the UAE so that should be 4.99 a day which is lovely.
But where I get a little confused is what happens if I want to call a UAE number whilst I am in the UAE?
Would this be classed as a call to the UAE from the UK and therefore charged as an international call?
Could I use one of the many options to like planettalk or call2call, or would that be classed as a premium rate and therefore be excluded from O2TRAVEL?
Many thanks.

The daily charge is only for texts and calls back to the UK do international charges will apply calling within the UAE.
You will not be allowed to use the other services you mention under o2 travel.
By far the best option is a local sim if the phone is unlocked although other WiFi services such as Line, Skype or WhatsApp would do for you if the other party had the same app. Either free over wifi or over data using o2 travel.
Please be warned that sending a single text to the UK will trigger the £4.99 charge for the day.
