New pay as you go phone

I have just ordered a new pay as you go phone, my last one died and want to keep the same number but the registration part keeps asking me to activate the new number with a code. The last time I changed just put the old sim in the new phone and no problems.

 

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the new number on my account and maintain the exisiting number as I do not seem to be able to access the old account and the funds held on it.

Can you not just put the old sim in the new phone again or is it a different size? Call 4445 and they will swap your number and credit to the new sim card if needed.

Or if it is a different sim size pop into your local 02 shop who should be able to supply a blank sim and let you do the sim swap in store b

Thank you both I set up and used my exisiting sim and all works well, just got confused as asking me to do something differnt from the last time I bought a new phone. Duh!

Keep the new SIM as a spare, then if yours goes faulty you can just call CS and have your details switched over. It will save you time obtaining a replacement.
