Leaving 02

My two year contract is about to finish and I will be leaving 02; will keep my Galaxy S5 phone as it does all I want and will use BT mobile as I have BT broadband at home. BT mobile will be £8 per month for 2GB data; little yse of minutes and texts. Euro travel will cost more but offset by much cheaper monthly contract.

I assume I need to get my phone unlocked and get my PAC as I want to keep my existing phone number?

How do I get my phone unlocked and my PAC?

To get your PAC you need to contact CS either by phone on 202 or live chat http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

How can I tell if phone unlocked? Applied to 02 about 48 hours ago ( I do note it could take 72 hours). Now have my PAC and my BT sim card. Want to use sim but its instructions say phone needs to be unlocked.

I thought 72 hours was for an iphone

For any phone other than the iPhone you will receive an unlock code which you use after inserting the BT sim. Either phone, it won't be unlocked until you get an email.

Why is it that a few minutes after asking a question on a forum the answer comes from a different source?  Some 10 minutes after asking r=his question I get an email from 02 giving me my unlatching code!

I will now transfer my S5 phone to BT.
