Hi, I've spoken to two different o2 agents about my tariff and both said different things.
My tariff has now reached 24 months, so I believe it's now unlinked from my device plan.
I asked about migrating this number to another number on my account, I was told I could not do this unless I paid off the device plan in full.
So I then asked about leaving the network and moving the number to a different provider but continuing to pay my device plan as usual with the monthly installments, I was then told this is also not possible unless I paid off the device plan in full.
Am I being lied to here? I'm being told I am unable to migrate my now unlinked number to take over another number on my account(I have 3 linee on my account, as it's my main one and don't want to lose it)
And I'm also being told I can only avoid an early termination fee by paying off the device plan in full if I want to move my number.
The agents words were
'If you want to cancel your number, still you need to pay off the device amount.
Either you can pay off in installments (if you change your tariff), or pay off your device in full (if you are cancelling it)'
So I'm being told if I want to continue paying my device plan in installments I have to take out a new tariff and if I want to cancel my tariff I have to pay off my device plan in full even though the tariff is now unlinked. Which makes no sense to me, as what's the point of the tariff becoming unlinked from the device plan.

Someone else had the same response last week.
No point arguing with them as they are useless and clueless.
I'll tag @Dave-O2 to pick up on this tomorrow for you.

Yeah it's so frustrating. One agent live chat the other said it over the phone but despite how many times I tried to explain the terms and conditions on the website state once you reach 24 months you can cancel or move the number and continue paying off the device plan they both told me this was not possible. I'm honestly not sure how they don't even know the terms that are stated for these plans on their own website.
Real shame as o2 use to be so helpful.
Thank you though I'll await the response from @Dave-O2
