How to activate iphone sim card ?

I baught a new 02 Pay & Go iphone in uk. Can i activate it from abroad?

I think you have to be in the uk as it needs an o2 signal to activate it.

I hate it when people give inaccurate information....

Just go the country of your choice, then put your o2 sim in, turn it on, send a test text message, it will go through. ( i did it from Cyprus)
