Fast O2 Refresh Upgrade

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I am an avid Apple fan (please don't debate this) and as you will know the new iPhones were unveiled today.

I am currently on an O2 Refresh contract with my iPhone 5S and would like to pre-order one of the new iPhones when they're available to pre-order on 12th September. I currently have a fair bit left for my settlement amount, but I'm willing to pay this off to pre-order the new iPhone.

This is my first time with a O2 Refresh contract so could someone please advise me as to a step-by-step guide to upgrade my phone to the new iPhone as a pre-order on the 12th, to replace my current phone?

Please note that I would like to be part of the first batch of iPhones that are shipped to get it as soon as possible, so I would like to ensure I don't waste any time and I complete the upgrade fast (as you will know there will be high demand and it backlogs quickly). So is there any actions I can complete before the 12th to get things out of the way in advance?

Thanks! slight_smile

You would need to ring O2 on 202
To discuss and if ok pay off the phone plan and upgrade.

Ring O2 on 202 when convenient for you. I'm sure many will already be going down the route your considering.

Once the phone is paid off you are free to upgrade as soon as you like.

So I go to that "upgrade options" section and pay it off? Then on the 12th I can come back and pre-order it as normal? Won't it try to take me into a new contract and then I'll have to pay to get out of my old one? I'm happy to stay with my current contract, just to switch phones

You can pay it off now, phones shouldn't be too busy until a formal announcement is made.

No, you have to take a new contract at whatever the current prices are - You can't just take a new phone. But you don't have to pay off the contract - just the phone cost.
