Ending my contract and switching to sim only

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

My 24 month contract ends next month. I don't want an upgrade, I'd ideally like to keep my phone and number and get a sim only deal (still on o2) How do I cancel my contract once the 24th month is up so I don't get charged afterwards? Also once I buy a sim only deal, does the monthly cost start from the buying date or can I choose what date it starts?
Please help

At Vodafone, as your contract ends you can change to a cheaper SIM only contract with a few clicks at the website.O2 have let me down by obviously difficulting the change to a SIM only plan to keep charging more. At my O2 account, I can easily renew my contract with a new and more expensive phone, but not reference whatsoever about the option to move to a similar plan for a lower SIM only plan. I'm leaving O2!

Just call them on 202 and choose any of the simo plans.
It really isn't difficult at all and you don't even need a new sim card.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I see your point but it's so easy to do on the shop page or by calling 202 which I did myself.
