Complaining about o2 Rewards

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've just discovered that after being in the Reward scheme for 3 years, I've only accrued £11.00. This last year I haven't used the phone much and only topped up for the Broadband discount but previously I topped up monthly. On having a web chat, O2 have informed me that if you don't save or use the rewards quarterly, you lose them. I cannot find any reference to this either in the help section or Rewards site and am disgusted at this. I wonder if anyone has ever challenged or complained about this? Also does anyone know how long o2 keep top-up records?

Hi and welcome.

This is clear on the 02 website about what you have to do regarding the 02 Rewards system.

http://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/rewards/pay-and-go-rewards

Clause 11

Redemption periods for claiming or saving Rewards are 4th April to 30th June, 4th July to 30th September, 4th October to 31st December and 4th January to 31st March. Rewards must be redeemed within the relevant 3 month redemption period outlined in this clause. Rewards that have not been claimed or saved at the end of each redemption period will be lost.

Thanks for that I didn't realise that there were terms and conditions! I do still think that o2 are unhelpful in not making this 'clear' elsewhere on the site and in their reward text. Maybe that would cost too much and take the shine off their 'kindness'.

There are always terms and we would all be complaining if there weren't.

If you want to take advantage you must help yourself by finding out how they work.

Do you seriously want to receive texts that long, I doubt it?

Your welcome.

At least you now know and can start saving them or using them as top up credit.
