Hi there
I created this account for me and my daughter many years ago for her to have a pay as you go phone. Once she got a job, she got her own pay monthly contract and its connected to the same account.
I no longer use O2 myself, so my daughter would like to take over the account into her own name. Is it possible to transfer her name onto the account or do I have to cancel it for her to make her own account from new?
Many thanks

Hi @Anonymous You can't change the account holders name. If the account is in your name then it will have to be cancelled for her to take out a new one in her name. She must apply for her own account and pass the credit checks. It might be better to let this contract run it's course (dependent on how much time is left?)
Info on cancellation here

Edited to add: I have just noticed that she already has a contract running. I have just checked a few previous posts on here which say you may be able to get the account holders name changed if you contact customer services, with your daughter present so that security questions can be answered etc. It's worth a try

Yes, that's what I thought. It was slightly confusing though when @Anonymous stated her daughter had a contract....
