Hi I had phone contract with o2 for 36 months and after that had finished liked the phone and  the tarried payment was 32.00 every month and was ok with it. But found a sim deal pay as you go on site and wanted that deal and went on to my account and tried to order the sim pay as you go but accidentally enrolled in for a contract that locks me in for 24 months with the sim only.

i am aware I can cancel this with in 14 days given that new year just start and I have been working a lot and I have attempted a few calls to speak to someone about this as calls where long wait I could not afford to sit and wait for someone answer so had to leave it a bit later but today I want to cancel and realised it 1 day late which I can understand but is there anything that can be done.

I suspect not. O2 are quite strict these days

Try Sales 0800 081 0255

Or

Message them on Social Media. Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG

Or phone them on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (contract)

4445 or 0344 8090222 (PAYG)

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
