I've been absent-mindedly continuing to pay for a contract which I haven't used in over 4 years.

I have lost the paperwork somewhere down the line and I'm wondering how to cancel the contract.

Should I just cancel the direct debit?

@bavdav

No, donor just cancel direct debit.

Correct way to cancel is here https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/ba-p/566774

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

All info is in the guide.
You can go in store but they will need you to call customer services from their phone to confirm all your details.

@bavdav If you cancel the Direct Debit, O2 will eventually send the debt collectors after you, and it will affect your credit rating, so that's not a wise idea. Follow the guide and cancel the contract using the correct process.
