The Sim swap guide is good if you're staying with O2.  How do I do it if I want to change provider?

What you need is not a sim swap.

You need to port your number.

Hi I have just bought a new phone which requires a nano sim card (HTC Desire 650)

I want to keep my old number and tariff which I had on my old phone on a micro sim card. (Samsung Galaxy S5)

Do I do this O2 sim swap for this? My old sim is O2 and obviously my new one is. I Am awaiting the new Nano sim in the post.

Yes, once the new sim arrives just follow the sim swap process, but have you checked you can't just push the tiny middle bit out of your old sim card?

Just noticed this guide by @Anonymous isn't in the Index? It should be... as people tend to use the Index more than the Knowledge Base... (I certainly do anyway)

If it is a triple sim you will be able to.

The new sim you receive will be capable of being 3 different sizes, just by pushing out the size you need.

The nano sim is the very tiny centre bit which is virtually all the gold contact bit.
