Hi, is it legal to charge 50p/minute service charge for a 0843 number?

The following ofcom site lists a 0843 service charge range of 0-7p / minute. Is that just guidance or law?

Always look for an overseas number which are charged as part of your allowances

The company has no idea if you are overseas or not when using a mobile

I have always done this for these ridiculously charged contact numbers

@MI5thanks for the sayno link. There's indeed an unverified  0800 number listed on there which I tried and worked. Though I hope never to have to speak to that lot again - I've  requested a new supplier to initiate a switch.
