Text Messages

For some reason I cannot send text messages to other O2 numbers from mt O2 number. Sometimes I get the message "Not sent .Tap try again" sometimes it says it has sent but it is not received at the other end. This fault is intermittent but is there more than it is not. I can send texts to any other network  no problem and I am able to receive texts from any network including O2. I dont think it is a network problem because there are other devices in the household on O2 which are all working normally.
