Sending SMS in poor reception areas

Am I imagining things but in recent weeks possibly, when I compose an SMS and send it in areas where the reception is poor my SMS end up as 'failed' with an exclamation mark. In the past I'm sure this did not happen and when I moved into a better reception area the SMS was sent as notified by the usual sound from my phone kept in my pocket.

Now it remains unsent and I have to copy the text and paste that into a new message to send it. I'm a bit perplexed by this anomaly to be honest. I cannot see those 'failed' messages being sent when reception conditions had improved. Is this now a network problem?

Cheers.

If Android try turning off Chat Features in the Messages SMS App

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

This happens in various places not where I live unless like this week when there was a problem with the network.

Maybe worth trying another SMS app.

Not all of the guides relate to your local area. One is pretty generic. Also I did give you links to contact customer services. Try them
