Hello, I want to do a SIM swap and transfer my mobile number to a new SIM card, but after updating the MyO2 app there is no option that says SIM swap. There is an 'Install SIM' option but when I tap it it says that the page has been moved. Do you know why I can't do a SIM swap?

Install sim is for an esim, but that wont work if you have no esim to be installed..

have a look at this guide here Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

I've logged into my MyO2 account but I can't find anything that says anything about a SIM swap? What has happened to the option?

It was removed 'temporarily' months ago for supposed security reasons. Probably no chance of it coming back

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I was thinking, when doing a SIM swap is it better to buy a new SIM card in a shop or ask O2 to send me a replacement SIM card through the post with my number already on it? When you do a SIM swap which method do you prefer? Does the new SIM cards original phone number still show on the phone after swapping numbers?

Go into an o2 store with Photo ID, and they will process a new sim and your number will move over to the new sim..

You do not need to buy a new SIM card..
