Im going to Germany for 4 days next week and will need to use my phone to contact my friend who lives there. what do I need to do to make sure I dont rack up any hidden charges? Will my phone work over there?

I just went for the calling in-country as that was what the op was asking for. Yes those rates @MI5 quotes are for calling back to the UK.

Whereas my confusion arose from this staement in the ops post

So...I presumed the OP would have a UK mobile...and her friend who lives in Germany would have a German mobile?.....:smileywink:

I  am not doing that....but I followed the thread from the start and was clicking on the links provided ...then noticed one had been changed/edited...I just thought it was straightforward till that point. Maybe just me suffering with heatstroke

That's the problem editing posts way after the original and after others have posted too - Make some look good and others look silly!

That was the whole idea about timescales on editing but editing after two people post with the correct information is a bit much. 14 minutes isn't on as it just looks like someone posted the correct information first when anyone who actually followed the thread knew it was exactly the opposite. Crazy.
