Hi,
I thought I would share the saga of trying to get wifi on London Underground courtesy of O2- not a happy tale!
Previously, I was with Orange and LU wifi worked prefectly. I moved over to O2 in June and was delighted to see that they joined the wifi scheme in July. Great, I thought, I can work on the move like I used to. Mistake.
I have NEVER been able to sign in and made numerous calls to "technical support" and "gurus" which frankly are sapping my will to live. My O2 wifi and every other wifi works perfectly, so the problem is clearly that O2 will not authenticate.
I spoke to a particularly unpleasant your man this morning who reckons the whole thing is my fault and that I need to contact Virgin wifi! What exactly is the point of porting over a number to O2 if they can't be bothered to look after it?
Moreover, I know this is a new service, but am I really the only person that this has happened to? There must be a solution to this, but O2 are really trying hard not to give it!
Solved! Go to Solution.

In case this is of use to anyone, I finally mananged to get this solved.
The good news from my perspective is that it is fixed, the bad news for O2 is that this is NOT user fixable.
I basically made a nuisance of myself for nearly two weeks before I eventually got through to someone who knew the difference between a mobile and a hole in the ground. When he looked at my account, sure enough, it was NOT properly registered as an O2 account. I'm pretty sure that is what I said from the beginning! All he had to do was hit "refresh" but only as Admin.
So the moral of the story is be a PITA and eventually an admin can fix this issue. You can't!
I do hope this of some use to someone!

Glad you finally got it sorted, would have been so easy to give up on it.

Glad you got it sorted out, it's a pity these things happen because someone wasn't paying attention.
Let us know how the wi-fi performs on the underground.

This is the exact problem I am having. Trying to get any of the "gurus" to read this thread is painful

Hi Oncoman,
I now have the same issue you had over a year ago, could you share the people you were in contact with?
Thanks
matt

Hi @Anonymous Can you clarify what your issue is please? Is it related to being unable to get O2 Wifi on the London underground?
If so there are certain places on LU that are now sharing Wifi with Virgin...
Here is a thread that may help (if getting WiFi is your issue?) The poster shows how to get it....
