change phone number on sim card

Hi, I have the nokia lumia 610 and want to change the phone number on the sim card to my own number.i have tried 02 guru and no further forward on how to do it,any help please

No, its not

The phone number on the sim is irrelevant. My sim does not have a number on it. Older Nokia's would allow you to write your number to the sim by going into phonebook (contacts) and selecting "My number" - I don't know if the Lumia allows this. However if everything is working except texts it would suggest that there is an issue with your sim (maybe the number port didn't fully complete etc). Have you tried removing sim and rebooting the phone?

Hi, Well this morning i was trying to update my personal details and as you know they send a verification code well i did not get the code.this is what made me think about my original phone number. Anyway after talking with you i tried it again 15 minutes ago (update my details) well this time i received the code and now it is working at receiving txt`s. thank you very much for you time and its been nice talking with you. Good news - It was probably the port that hadn't completed fully earlier and has now caught up with itself....
