3 times i have called customer services over the past 2 weeks now and asked for a network SIM lock to be removed on a iPhone 8 i purchased directly from O2 in 2017, each time i've had the same response being 'wait 72 hours and restart the phone'. Each time no change.
I have provided all relevant info each time, IMEI, date of purchase, telephone number etc.
The number has now ported away from O2 and the new SIM does not work in the phone due to the network lock still being active. I've not once heard back from anyone at O2 and each time i call it's like i've never mentioned this before with no previous case found or tickets logged.
How am i ever going to get this network lock removed by O2?

Guide here Guide: Unlocking an O2 phone to use a different SIM card
or check on your local market stall / phone repair shop.

Thanks but the manual form link does not work, page not found.
Market stall/phone repair shop is an option, but i'd rather not pay for something that O2 can perform for free.

All that O2 do is ask Apple to release the phone.
You are probably best messaging them on one of the Social Media links which are UK based

If it has been a while since the phone was used on O2 it will have dropped off the network so it won't be found to get the unlock requested. You will need to use an O2 sim in it again to register it as per the details in my guide above.
