Hi everyone,
As you might have spotted here on the Community before, we have a few avid readers that like to share their book recommendations with the rest of us. A few weeks ago, we have started introducing a monthly book thread but after your suggestions, we have now decided to instead keep our love for books only in one general thread.
Of course there will still be monthly updates but we would like you to join in beyond that with sharing your current reads, long-time favourites and new discoveries in this thread whenever you like! That way we have a place we can share our thoughts and discuss regularly instead of splitting it up in monthly threads.
Saying that, I myself have just started a new book. You might know from the previous thread that I am a bit of a crime novel-lover, so that’s where I found myself again. And with the days getting longer and the evenings lighter, I hopefully also won’t be shaken that easily. This month’s read for me is How to Disappear by Gillian McAllister which evolves around a mother whose daughter witnessed a horrible crime and now disappearing is the only solution for them. With a tagline saying “You can run, you can hide, but can you ever really disappear? . . .” I sure am on my toes already...

I love finding new authors and then discovering all of the other things they have written. I will definitely try one of the two for my next book @Cleoriff . Meanwhile I am imaging you in a book shop looking somewhat like this:

I am half way through The Therapist by B.A. Paris. Pretty good so far.

What is everyone reading at the moment? I have just finished my previous books and am looking forward to picking something new soon. I did a bit of research as I wanted something fresh and saw a few new books that sound really promising and are just being released this month.
For example Competitive Grieving by Nora Zelevansky, which is a dark comedy about a woman dealing with the sudden loss of her closest friend, who just happened to be a rising television star. And you all know I love a dark comedy, so this might be right up my alley!
The other one I am eyeing is The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz which is about a novelist and professor, who stole the idea for his latest book from his now-dead student, and then receives an anonymous email that simply says, "You are a thief."
What are you guys reading at the moment? Anything on the list as the next one to watch?

In May so far, I have read
The Flight - by Julie Clark. A psychological thriller with a twist. Brilliant.
The Whispers- by Heidi Perks. Another ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Didn't see that coming.
Her Last Holiday- by CL Taylor. A crime thriller. A bit of a rollercoaster this one. Loved it.
and finally , in the middle of this one..
The Silent Wife by Karen Slaughter. A crime thriller. I'm struggling a bit with this one. It's part of the 'Will Trent' series and if you haven't read her others in this series, I keep wondering who they are talking about. I will stick with it though as it's a good story about a serial killer. (Not for the fainthearted if you dislike hearing the awful way the victims die)

Oh wow @Cleoriff, well done fitting all of those in! I looked at The Solent Wife as well but wasn't quite sure about it. I do love a psychological thriller with a good twist, so am keen to explore new ones. I think I might wait with the ones I mentioned above and see what I still have to read from the ones you guys have been recommending over the past few months! So, thanks for the suggestions and keep em coming

I have to say I find gory things much easier in writing than when watching. You might laugh at me but I only yesterday started watching zombie movies again without totally freaking out
